Hence, out of total cotton production of 345 lakh bales in the Country, there were no offers at MSP from farmers except 465 bales in West Bengal, though CCI remained present in the market yards throughout the cotton season for procuring cotton at MSP; Balance quantity are purchased by CCI (under viable Commercial operation wherever procurement under MSP is not feasible) and by other stakeholders above MSP rates.
