Data values of 'Advance rate' and 'Reserve Bank - Bank rate' are as on March 31st; Advance rate relates to SBI; Data on lending rates relate to five major Public Sector Banks up to 2003-04. For the remaining years, the data relate to five major banks; Date on lending rate relate to either Prime Lending Rate (PLR) or Benchmark Prime Lending Rate(BPLR) or Base Rate, as the case may be for the relevant year; BPLR system effective November 2003 was replaced by the Base Rate System effective from July 1, 2010; Data for the year 2016-17 are Average rate for the month of September 2016; Source: Reserve Bank of India and also published in statistical year book 2017 by MOSPI.
