Tamil Nadu doesn't use RADT. There may be a difference in number of sample tested given here in the media bulletin and the ICMR portal in view of time-lag between test conducted, results declared that are shared in real time basis by the labs to the state and the districts and the time taken for the data updation in the ICMR portal. Approximately 2300 passengers travelled from UK between 25th Nov & 23rd Dec forenoon. Of the above, 2146 were traced & tested, of which 24 were tested positive & 2122 were tested negative. Tracing of other passengers are underway. Though these 2122 travellers already were tested negative, as a matter of extra precaution 3977 close contacts of them were traced and tested, all were found to be negative. 1268 UK returnees arrived between 08/01/2021 & 01/02/2021. Of the above 963 were traced & tested, of which 2 are tested positive, 951 are tested negative. Results of 10 passengers are awaited. Tracing of other passengers are underway. The Total Primary Cases returned from UK as on 01/02/2021 & cases through their contacts till date are 26 & 20 respectively, which are classified by districts namely Chennai (9,6), Thanjavur (3,3), Madurai (3,0), Nilgiris (3,2), Chengalpattu (3,4), Theni (1,2), Nagapattinam (1,3), Coimbatore (1,0), Karur (1,NA) & Virudhunagar (1,NA). These are part of the overall up-to-date numbers declared as on date. All the UK returnee positive patients & their positive contacts are kept in separate isolation wards. All 26 primary & 20 contact cases are tested negative on follow up RT-PCR sample testing are discharged and kept under home quarantine. Out of 7 deaths due to COVID-19, 3 are in Government Hospitals & 4 are in Private Hospitals.
